Thieves® Dish Soap Hack

I’ve gotten a lot of questions about our dish soap. Everyone sees the price of the bottle and it scares them off. So, I want to let you in on a few of my secrets.

First off, I’m a member, so I get to pay the wholesale price, instead of retail.

Second, I always buy it on my Essential Rewards order, so I earn points back on each bottle that I order.

Now, let’s dig a little deeper. All of our Young Living products are ultra-concentrated, so option #1 is to put about three drops of the dish soap in your sink-full of water, for washing. If that works for you, then awesome! You’re all set! For me, though, I’m no good at just putting a couple drops in. And, the thing I love about the Thieves dish soap (that it’s chemical-free) is also one of the things I struggle with (it doesn’t have the chemical that makes it suds). So. Here’s what I do.

I pour about 4/5 of the soap into another container, like a Mason jar, (or, if I have an empty dish soap container, I just mix in that one). To that, I add 1 Tbsp. baking soda and 1 capful of Thieves Household Cleaner, and top off the dish soap bottle with hot water. I like to use a stainless steel straw to mix everything, since shaking soap really isn’t a great plan.

The baking soda and household cleaner add suds into the picture, and diluting the soap lets me use more at a time without wasting all that good soap!

Here’s a video I made of mixing up my last bottle!
